JOB TITLE : Accounting and Administrative Assistant



LOCATION : Tunis, Tunisia

REPORTS TO : Belma Sisic

TITLE : Resident Program Officer

PURPOSE: Assist Resident Program Officer with administrative task; assistant accountant with procurement and financial reporting.



  • Help on logistics for training, including, but not limited to, hotel bookings, transportation and catering
  • Support office operations by assisting in vendor contracts, collecting bids for vendors, etc.
  • Provide oral and written translations for program staff as requested
  • Provide logistical support for program staff
  • Copy and scan accounting documents and reports
  • Assist in the review, reconciliation and evaluation of IRI grant activities
  • Help on preparing cash disbursement vouchers for the current expenses and ensure that all proper supporting documentations are attached
  • Help the accountant  prepare monthly accounting reports (imprest and other financial documents) as requested
  • Enter transactions in the financial system
  • Review vehicle logs
  • Organize good filing system in the office.
  • Comply with Local Regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information gained in the course of employment
  • Maintain open, positive and constructive relations with co-workers while ensuring that IRI accounting standards and procedures are observed and implemented.


  • Assist in the arrangement of IRI program training and workshops as well as other IRI events.
  • Collect bids and prices for hotels, rental cars and other vendors as needed
  • Copy and scan accounting documents
  • Keep track of office supplies; order and pick up supplies as needed
  • Ensure full compliance with IRI procedures and rules
  • Perform any other tasks required by Supervisor

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BA in business, finance, economics, accounting or related fields
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suites and Quicken
  • Preferable international NGO experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communications skills in English, Arabic and French
  • Team-oriented
  • Self-starter
  • Non-partisan
