 About the job

The Italian Council for Refugees (CIR) is presently looking for a national Human Resources Officer for its office in Tunis. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in dealing with all human resources-related tasks such as: recruitment, staff management, performance and career development, compensation policies.

 

Main duties and responsibilities of the role

 Recruitment

  • Be responsible for the recruitment process of national positions for the office in Tunis. Support, if needed, in the recruitment of national positions based in Tripoli.
  • Ensure that all recruitments are carried out in line with CIR procedures and in a timely matter.
  • Support the Head of Departments in preparing the job descriptions.
  • Ensure that the vacancies are posted in all relevant platforms.
  • Ensure that all the supporting documents for any recruitment are properly filled in and stored in the office.
  • Draft working contracts, ensure that they are prepared and signed on a timely matter.

 

Staff management, performance and career development

  • Ensure that all staff have valid contracts and inform the line managers if the contract end-date approaches.
  • Deal with staff requests regarding CIR policies in terms of administration and human resources.
  • Follow-up on staff attendance on a daily basis.
  • Keep staff files updated for each employee.
  • Support in the preparation of a welcome package for all newly recruited staff.
  • Identify training opportunities for all employees based on previous discussions with the employee and the line manager.
  • Support the team in the organization of any training/activity/event in the office.

 

Compensation and benefits

  • Support the Administrative Manager in the preparation of salary grids and salary surveys.
  • Liaise with the HR Departments of other NGOs in order to keep updated on the latest developments related to HR in the country.

Other

  • Any other task to support the Administration Department.

Conditions – We offer

  • Contract:   Fixed-term position
  • Contract length:  6 months with possibility of renewal
  • Start date:  As soon as possible
  • Duty Station: Tunis

Critères d'éligibilité

  • University degree in Human Resources, Business Studies, Management or related subject is required.
  • Minimum two years of experience working in an HR Department.
  • Previous experience with an International Organization/International Non-Governmental Organization is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Fluency in Arabic and French and/or English is required.
