The Tunisia Jobs, Opportunities, & Business Success (JOBS) project is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The purpose of the JOBS project is to help Tunisian private companies increase their sales and exports sustainably to increase economic growth opportunities, including job creation. JOBS will achieve this objective through a multi-dimensional approach including:

  • promote a more effective business enabling environment by working with the public and private sectors to promote policy and regulatory reforms; and
  • communicate to Tunisians, especially youth, the importance of market-led economic growth and entrepreneurship to deliver needed resources to companies.

To support the main objective of job creation, JOBS’ workforce development (WFD) component aims to improve the match between the skills required by the labor market and the training output provided by institutions of higher education and vocational training and to better prepare youth for the labor market.

As part of its Year 3 strategy, JOBS will build an internship program to allow youth access to practical experience with JOBS partners.

More specifically, s/he will provide technical support in the collection of internship partners’ needs, the planning and preparation of the internship’ position descriptions including skills required and metrics for each intern’s professional growth, collection and preselection of the candidates’ applications, the final selection and placement process, and required reporting on progress of all interns toward meeting the goals set in their position descriptions.
