What is TYL?

TYL is an English and leadership camp that will bring together around 15 youth from different parts of the country for one week. Students will gain valuable English, interpersonal, and leadership skills, which they will apply toward changing their lives and the lives of others around them.

Who are we?

We are a group of Tunisian youth who are passionate about education and who aspire to contribute to educational reform in Tunisia. Our previous projects have included the Workshop for Adult Leaders in Teaching English (WALTE), a teachers’ training program that aims at revolutionizing the way English is taught in Tunisian schools.

As for the “Tunisian Youth Lead”, it is our first-ever project oriented towards working with students on educational reform.

What are our goals?

• Empowering a group of Tunisian youth by helping them improve their English language, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Initiating a sense of inter-cultural understanding and tolerance into a group of Tunisian youth from different backgrounds and various parts of the country
• Stimulating students to think about their roles as change-makers in their society and towards the educational system they are part of
• Creating a cohort of Tunisian youth leaders who will use the skills learned during the camp to make a difference in their respective communities

Where?

Lycée Pilote Monastir

The accommodation, food, and other expenses during the entire period of camp will be fully covered and will be at “Lycée Pilote Monastir (LPM)”. Students will only need to cover their transportation fees to LPM.
