CESVI was one of the first INGOs intervening in Libya, as soon as the Arab Spring begun in 2011 and is carrying out a Humanitarian Protection Projects in the East, South and West of Libya. The “Protection and lifesaving assistance for refugees and asylum seekers in Libya“ project aims to improve standards of living and the protective environment for vulnerable Sudanese in Al-Kufra, through the establishment of Child-Friendly Spaces, a Women and Girls Safe Space, provision of psychosocial support, and supporting local organizations through training and capacity building. 

 

Safeguarding Policies

CESVI has zero tolerance approach to any form of abuse and sexual exploitation as well as bullying and a range of non-sexual abuse of power perpetrated by CESVI employee and related personnel against any individual (children and adults) regardless of age, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or ethnic origin.
CESVI takes all the complaints and concerns about violence against children and SEA seriously and it initiates rigorous investigation of complaints indicating a possible violation of safeguarding policies as well as of CESVI Code of Conduct and of CESVI Ethical Code. 

Scope of work:

CESVI is recruiting a Training and Capacity Building Assistant responsible for supporting the Emergency Coordinator in implementing capacity building of local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Libya. The Training and Capacity Building Assistant will be responsible for translating training materials, documents and resources from English to Arabic. The assistant will also support the organization and facilitation of training sessions and capacity building activities. 

Main objectives:

  • To provide local CSOs in Libya with training and capacity building. 
  • To keep accurate and safe records of the attendance of trainings.
  • Ensure effective communication between English and Arabic. 
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of translation. 
  • Support training and capacity building activities.   

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Translate training materials, guidelines, manuals, and any other documents from English to Arabic and Arabic to English. 
  • Ensure accuracy in translations, ensuring the meaning of the original content. 
  • Assist in organizing and preparing for training sessions, workshops, and capacity building activities. 
  • Support trainers and facilitators during training sessions by providing translation and interpretation as needed. 
  • Collaborate with the Technical Unit and other team members to develop and adapt training materials to suit the local context. 
  • Ensure that all translated materials are easily understandable by the target audience. 
  • Support the implementation of capacity building activities. 
  • Support with the coordination of logistics for training sessions. 
  • Maintain records of training activities, including attendance, in coordination with the MEAL team. 
  • Act as a liaison between the international team and local staff to facilitate communication. 
  • Assist in any other tasks within technical capacity and as requested by the line manager. 

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Diploma in relevant field (desirable) 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in translation and interpretation 
  • Experience in training is an advantage. 
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic. 
  • Strong translation and interpretation skills with attention to detail. 
  • Experience with humanitarian and development organizations is an advantage. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Experience working with teams remotely advantageous

 

Duty station:  Tunis, Tunisia
