Overview

Launched by Silatech in partnership with Microsoft, the Ta3mal platform is the Middle East’s first employability portal linking youth to career guidance, training, eLearning, work readiness and internship and job opportunities. Initially started in Egypt, the Ta3mal platform now has localized country portals developed in Tunisia, Iraq and Qatar, with plans underway for Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, and Palestine.

Position Description

The National Coordinator will be responsible for every aspect of program activities in Tunisia. S/he will contribute to the development and growth of the Ta3mal ecosystem, which includes building a network of key contributing partners, adapting continuously the platform to the Tunisian context, managing the day-to-day running of the online platform, and handling the outreach efforts to promote the services to youth and youth-serving organizations.

The National Coordinator will take a leading role in the development, oversight, implementation, review and monitoring of the country program to ensure it remains aligned with the regional Ta3mal program’s overall strategic direction and thematic focus.

Specific Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the country program and its resources, including partnerships, content development and community building.

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relations with the government, and non-profit, public and private sector representatives.
  • Build a network of volunteers across Tunisia to increase the physical reach of Ta3mal inside universities.
  • Set up and manage links between Ta3mal, physical NGOs, and career development centers to provide a comprehensive multi-modal service to Tunisian youth.
  • Identify appropriate partners to expand localized educational content on the portal.
  • Oversee and support the “Employer Engagement Officer” in increasing the number of entry-level job and internship opportunities online via strategic partnerships with employment initiatives, and direct engagement with employers.
  • Manage social media and newsletter strategy, and organize monthly events (presentations, training, and workshops) to engage stakeholders and drive usage and community building on the portal.
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring, learning and evaluation system across the implementation of the program.
  • Maintain good communication with regional office including timely submission of program reports, financial reports, and planning documents.
  • Contribute to the development of Ta3mal by submitting periodical recommendations and feedbacks to the regional office, and engaging in direct collaborations with project coordinators in MENA countries.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Excellent working knowledge of the Tunisian context (civil society dynamics, job market, reforms of the educational system, economic threats and opportunities, etc).
  • Bachelor degree in relevant disciplines.
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in the implementation of youth-related programs or non-profit projects, including at least 2 years in project management.
  • Proven ability to network and establish collaborative relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience in organizing events bringing together different stakeholders.
  • Strong computer literacy and understanding of online website management, preferably Microsoft web technologies
  • Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and French with the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in English.
  • Ability to generate ideas and work within minimal guidance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, administrative and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the country (monthly travels).
  • Experience in public awareness-raising and media-related activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including financial management and donor reporting.
