Job Summary

Democracy International is seeking to hire a Knowledge Management Assistant for the NASSEEJ project in Tunisia. This position is open to Tunisian nationals only. The NASSEEJ project is partnering with and supporting Tunisian Citizens to act on specific issues and effect change at the local, regional and national levels to advance Tunisia’s development in different sectors. Project interventions are intended to be timely, relevant and actionable, and will be focused on prioritizing activities that reflect public priorities, and have strong potential to create tangible, near-term, improvements in the daily lives of citizens.  

Responsibilities

The Knowledge Management Assistant will support the NASSEEJ project to organizes, maintains, and update knowledge management systems, ensuring accurate and accessible information. Responsibilities include data entry document management, and event organization, with specific attention to the following areas:

  • Organize and maintain knowledge management systems and databases.
  • Regularly update and maintain the knowledge base to reflect current information.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of knowledge management strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist in the documentation of project progress and results.
  •  Conduct research and analysis to identify knowledge management best practices.
  • Collect and systematize information/data on specific thematic areas and develop corresponding knowledge and learning materials in Arabic, French and English.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and learning materials both within the NASSEEJ team as well as with relevant stakeholders and partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to knowledge management.
  • Support the onboarding process by providing new employees with access to relevant knowledge resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and share knowledge.
  • Support the development of Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) tools.
  • Organize and coordinate periodic meetings for the implementation of the project’s CLA approach, including, but not limited to, After Action Reviews and Pause & Reflect Sessions.
  • Support the project’s MEL Specialist in data collection for the development of reports, minutes, concept notes, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
  • Provide support for related additional tasks, as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information science, knowledge management, organizational development, business administration, project management or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of content management systems, database management, and information retrieval tools
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate and systematize information and data in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, French and Arabic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently, able tomanage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.

Reporting Requirements

The Knowledge Management Assistant will report to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Specialist.
