Search in Tunisia

SFCG’s mission in Tunisia is to promote the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. SFCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. SFCG-Tunisia works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, security forces, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and acting on common points. Through this approach and partnerships, SFCG-Tunisia has four main strategic objectives: (i) Promoting Peace Education; (ii) Fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) Enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (vi) Transforming Violent Extremism in Tunisia. We are searching for…

Search-Tunisia is looking to recruit a Media Assistant for a new, exciting project that leverages mass media to promote democratic consolidation and youth leadership. Search strongly believes that fostering youth engagement in the political sphere holds the potential to develop a lifelong engagement in the democratic process and sustain Tunisia’s democratic transition. Based on this belief, Search and its production partner Ma’an network will produce a reality television program to increase young women and men’s interest in constructively participating in politics, peacefully engaging with their national and local governments, and improving mutual understanding and trust, ultimately contributing to higher youth turnout in the 2019 elections in Tunisia.

Your contribution

The Media Assistant will provide both administrative and creative support to our media operations primarily by following closely the Project Manager in day-today activities regarding content production and external communications tasks. The Media Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Administrative tasks

  • Assist the Project Manager in designing new communication plans for the project and develop new project promotion and visibility initiatives, in line with our global marketing and branding strategy
  • Assist the Project Manager with media activity reports and contribute to the media component of the quarterly narrative reports for donors, in compliance with Search and donor requirements and in collaboration with Search’s MENA regional team and HQ
  • Lead on outreach to, identification of, and coordination with media partners
  • Track social media statistics and work closely with M&E officer to analyze information and offer recommendations.
  • Liaise with Project Assistant and Production Coordinator to prepare logistics for Media & Production activities logistics.
  • Coordinate closely with local Production Company and Media representatives.
  • Ensuring and managing the information security and confidentiality aspects of the content as well as the intellectual property rights of the content and product of SFCG

Content creation

  • Prepare articles, blog posts, press releases, short films, and other publications.
  • Co-produce success stories, articles, and in-depth analysis of events related to the project, using the Common Ground approach.
  • Collaborate with the Team to produce Social media content.
  • Adapt content to different social media platforms.
  • Co-manage social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram) of the project.
  • Coordinate closely with team members and partners working on the project to develop appropriate content and means of communication.
  • Track schedules of project activities, noting relevant opportunities for communication and external visibility
  • Participate in the design and development of the social media component in the Project.
  • Watch over the current social media trends and propose amendments accordingly.
  • Report and analyze social media activities

Duration:

initial 5-month contract (CDD), renewable, with start date on early October, 2019.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Relevant higher education degree in media, journalism or any other related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Social Media Management and content productions
  • Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation
  • Demonstrated experience working with local partners.
  • Good content production skills
  • Good storytelling skills
  • Good social media management skills
  • Good video editing skills (Final cut pro X /Adobe premiere pro)
  • Good graphic design skills
  • Good camera operating skills
  • Ability to manage relationships – able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Works cooperatively with others to be part of a team; values individual differences and demonstrates a commitment to knowledge sharing and informal learning, for the benefit of the team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral Arabic and English and French
  • Strong interest in conflict prevention and peacebuilding
  • Creative and organized.
