Ifrikya Center for Common Ground:

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion in North African societies through conflict transformation. It is a newly established Tunisian organization that builds on the legacy and experience of the international peacebuilding NGO Search for Common Ground in Tunisia. 

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground in Tunisia: 

 

ICCG’s strategy for Tunisia includes the promotion of the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: (i) promoting peace education; (ii) fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (iv) transforming violent extremism.

Position Summary: 

ICCG Tunisia is looking to hire a Senior Project Officer  to support all functional responsibilities of project activities implementation in close coordination with Program Manager and Tunisia office Executive Director. S/he will work under the direct supervision of the Tunisia Program Manager . The position is based in Tunis, Tunisia, with regular field visits across the project target locations.  The Senior Project Officer will be primarily responsible for planning, and oversee the implementation, of the project activities . 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

The senior project officer will oversee project implementation and report directly to the Program Manager . 

 

The role and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Conduct programmatic and administrative duties related to all aspects of project implementation.
  • Support the subgrant team with the follow-up and implementation of sub-grants (in-field as well as the different programmatic aspects). 
  • Maintain effective communication systems and ensure information flow within the project team and with the project subgrantees.
  • Research and gather materials for the project;
  • Lead the project reporting requirements.
  • Coordinating with local CSOs and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Be the focal point with the Sub-grantees and provide technical support as needed
  • Drafting and submitting activity reports;
  • Assisting in logistical and administrative tasks related to the implementation of the activities; 
  • Assisting in facilitating activities and training sessions as needed;
  • Support with project translation requirements (English/French/Arabic).
  • Complete all other aligned tasks as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

Essential:

 

  • Previous work experience in donors funded projects in the field of community based ,PVE or social cohesion projects .
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International development, sociology or any other related field. A Master’s degree is preferable;
  • Proven technical capacity ;
  • Demonstrated capacity to coordinate with different partners , 
  • Good knowledge and application of reporting principles;
  • Excellent analytical and report writing skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, as well as the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a proactive approach
  • Ability to multitask and work to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively in English and French, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in both Arabic, French, and English
  • Ability to travel across Tunisia

Desirable:

  • Post-graduate degree in a related in International relations, Human & social sciences, conflict or security studies, or a related field; 
  • Experience working in PVE projects and/or on social cohesion programming
