Position Title: Senior Grant Officer

Form of Employment: Full-Time Contract

Duration: One year with possibility of renewal

Background 

Belady – an Island for Humanity, is a human rights organization that advocates for civil and political rights and aims at promoting transparency and accountability and curbing violations. Belady is hiring a Senior Grant Officer to coordinate our grants and support diverse tasks that include research, ideation and writing of proposals. 

Role & Responsibilities

1. Researching and identifying new grant opportunities on a weekly basis;
2. Summarizing relevant grant opportunities and suggesting how to best respond and comply with them;
3. Writing proposals and applying for relevant grants, averaging one per month; 
4. Supporting other team members in MEL and evaluation reports; 
5. Maintaining necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials related to grants;
6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

1. Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Nonprofit management, International Administration, International Development, International Business, Management, Public Administration or a related field; Masters degree highly encouraged. 
2. A minimum of five years’ relevant professional experience on international development programs and/or work in the civil society sector of Egypt, Tunisia and/or other countries;
3. Experience with design and management of civil society grants programs required;
4. Familiarity with international development donors’, programs, rules and regulations;
5. Ability to work effectively with grantees and stakeholders;
6. Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team;
7. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills; 
8. Fluency in English, Arabic and/or French; 
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is strongly preferred.
