Background
Belady – an Island for Humanity, is a human rights organization that advocates for civil and political rights and aims at promoting transparency and accountability and curbing violations. Belady is hiring a Senior Grant Officer to coordinate our grants and support diverse tasks that include research, ideation and writing of proposals.
Role & Responsibilities
- Researching and identifying new grant opportunities on a weekly basis;
- Summarizing relevant grant opportunities and suggesting how to best respond and comply with them;
- Writing proposals and applying for relevant grants, averaging one per month;
- Supporting other team members in MEL and evaluation reports;
- Maintaining necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials related to grants;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Nonprofit management, International Administration, International Development, International Business, Management, Public Administration or a related field; Masters degree highly encouraged.
- A minimum of five years’ relevant professional experience on international development programs and/or work in the civil society sector of Egypt, Tunisia and/or other countries;
- Experience with design and management of civil society grants programs required;
- Familiarity with international development donors’, programs, rules and regulations;
- Ability to work effectively with grantees and stakeholders;
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team;
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills;
- Fluency in English, Arabic and/or French;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is strongly preferred.
