Operational Context:
UNHCR Field Office Zarzis (Southern Tunisia) conducted RSD (Refugee Status Determination) to an increasing number of asylum seekers over the last six months. Those asylum seekers are mostly from West Africa, the horn of Africa (Somalia, Eritrea and Ethiopia) and Sudan. A significant number of these asylum seekers include those travelling overland from Algeria and those rescued at sea. Arrivals from Libya started in late 2018 in the wake of the fighting and insecurity in Tripoli and its surrounding area.
The operation has enhanced its RSD capacity at FO level and the identification of cases in need of resettlement. Tunisia FO operation has currently 1 Resettlement staff based in Zarzis and is looking to recruit an additional resettlement staff to be based in Sfax. The resettlement target for 2020 is 150 persons. UNHCR Tunisia recruited one Resettlement Officer based in Tunis, the latter will work jointly with the Resettlement Associate and will ensure capacity building.
The caseload registered in Tunisia consist of profiles with extreme vulnerabilities, highly traumatized individuals arriving from Libya having gone through SGBV, torture and forced slavery. The operation also registers cases of children at risk (UACs) women at risk, LGBTI, and persons with legal and physical protection needs.
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Protection Officer in Sfax and the technical supervision of the Resettlement Officer in Tunis, the Resettlement Associate will conduct resettlement interviews, drafting Resettlement registration forms (RRF) and submitting for review and processing at CO level.
He/she will also be involved in protection case management as advised by the Associate Protection Officer in Sfax.

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Protection Officer in Sfax and the technical supervision of the Resettlement Officer in Tunis, the Resettlement Associate will undertake the following tasks:
