Position: Regional Director for the South 

Location: EFE-Tunisie South Office, Zarzis, Tunisia

EFE Background

Education for Employment (EFE) believes that when young people have jobs and the hope of building a future, they help lay the foundation for prosperous and secure societies. EFE has a network of local nonprofits operating across the Middle East and North Africa :Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

EFE’s mission is to provide economic opportunities for youth, enabling them to transform their lives through productive, independent livelihoods. Two elements distinguish EFE: 1) We are a network of locally-run non-profits led by a national board of directors (mainly from the private sector) and staff, and 2) We complete the circle beyond training to place graduates in jobs or connect them to entrepreneurship support, and then to provide ongoing learning and civic engagement opportunities.

Context

In the scope of the project “Supporting Job Creation for Young Tunisians from Marginalized Communities” and with the support of the US Embassy in Tunisia and the Near Eastern Affairs Bureau (NEA), EFE-Tunisie is launching new offices in Zarzis to better serve youth in the south region and particularly the governorate of Mednine and the Borders with Libya. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Regional Director for the South  will work primarily in close collaboration with the Tunisian team and will also collaborate with the European and U.S. teams. 

Responsibilities:

The Regional Director for the South  will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of EFE-Tunisie.

He/She plays a central role in the implementation of the project at operational, financial, partnership and administrative levels. 

As responsible for the EFE-Tunisie South base, he is responsible for its proper functioning. 

He / she will have under his managerial responsibility a team of 3 people:

• A Youth engagement and recruitment coordinator,
• A Training assistant,
• An administrative, finance and logistics assistant.

Mainly based in Zarzis, the Regional Director for the South will have to make regular trips to Tunis.

The Regional Director for the South will supervise the implementation of the project “Supporting Job Creation for Young Tunisians from Marginalized Communities” activities in the south and the achievement of its objectives and expected results.

He/She will coordinate partnerships with different stakeholders in the region and will mobilize all necessary internal and external resources to achieve expected results.

He/she is responsible for the quality of project activities’ implementation with regard to  EFE-Tunisie standards as well as compliance with donor requirements and procedures.

The Regional Director for the South will carry out the following responsibilities:

• Ensure the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project 
• Manage all partnerships related to the project,
• Build partnerships with  potential employers and private sector federations in the region in order to secure job opportunities for the project youth beneficiaries.
• Represent EFE-Tunisie with regional stakeholders 
• Manage and lead the team in the EFE-Tunisie South base 
• Manage project budget dedicated for the EFE-Tunisie South base
• Participate in the identification and development of new projects and funding opportunities for the south region
• Actively contribute actively to the success of EFE-Tunisie team
