Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion in North African societies through conflict transformation. It is a newly established Tunisian organization that builds on the legacy and experience of the international peacebuilding NGO Search for Common Ground in Tunisia. 

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG)  in Tunisia :

ICCG’s strategy for Tunisia includes the promotion of the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: (i) promoting peace education; (ii) fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (iv) transforming violent extremism.

We are searching for…  Ifrikya Center For Common Ground  will implement in partnership with PORTICUS the  twelve-month project “Fa-y-ke wa Nfeyyak: Wake up, Connect, Engage” . We will target 15 interested and dynamic youth (youth influencers) from local areas (Gafsa, Greater Tunis and Bizerte) who have some digital skills and are able to  influence communities to engage in the governance process in Tunisia. This will be achieved through strengthening target youth influencers’ capacity and skills with regards to positive online engagement and addressing online misinformation regarding the democratic process; and secondly, disseminating reliable content to address the impact of misinformation, raise awareness of democratic process, including elections and the electoral process, and influence people to constructively engage with governance structures.

ICCG is recruiting a Project Officer to support day-to-day implementation and monitoring of its activities. s/he will lead the planning and implementation of program activities, report directly to the Executive Director and liaise with relevant partners and target beneficiaries in the different project locations . S/he prepares activity and monthly reports for the donor. 

 

Your contribution 


The roles and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain an updated work plan, and oversee the effective implementation of planned activities to the highest results, in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Ensure progress on all activities, liaising with project partners and possible external consultants. 
  • Provide support to trainers on the design of training materials. 
  • Prepare activities’ reports as well as narrative reports for donors, in compliance with ICCG  and donor requirements and in collaboration with ICCG finance department . 
  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation aspects of the projects to ensure that M&E frameworks are in place and implemented to document progress towards the project’s (un-)intended results.
  • Support the identification and preparation of contract agreements with consultants, experts or any contractors as needed for the projects.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.

You are…
You meet the following qualifications: 

Education 

  • Advanced university degree in international development, conflict resolution, project management or related field. 

Professional Experience 

  • At least 3 years of INGO or CSO experience in project implementation or management, preferably in the fields of digital peacebuilding. 
  • Strong project management skills covering different aspects such as activities planning and implementation, and partner coordination. 
  • Good knowledge of youth mobilization and engagement strategies and approaches.
  • Knowledge on aspects related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Previous training facilitation experience would be an asset. 
  • Written and oral proficiency in English; written and oral proficiency in French would be an asset. 
  • Strong and proven ability in report writing in English. 
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office and Excel). 

Job Knowledge and Skills 

  • Cultural sensitivity and strong interest in dialogue, peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, as well as the ability to build and conduct effective professional working relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment.
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively. 
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to evolving contexts.
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way. 
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas in Tunisia. 

Duration: Fixed-term contract until the end of the project with a three months probation period .
