Position:  Project Coordinator (Yemen focus)

Location:     MENA region based (Remote)

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

Internews seeks to enhance the enabling environment for freedom of expression and access to information in countries where information is highly controlled and censored by authoritarian governments or non-state factions, and where the production of independent information creates risks for those involved in production and for those that seek to access it.

Role:                 Supporting the Yemen program in the daily implementation of media projects

Key Responsibilities:

o   Coordinating within project team and between different activity teams, project director, and external partners.

o   Organising meetings and assisting team during events in logistical organization (flights and hotel booking, small procurement…).

o   Assisting in reviewing partners and external consultants’ deliverables

o   Collecting project documentation and data for donor reporting (reports and receipts).

o   Preparing partners and suppliers’ contracts and sub-grant agreements.

o   Translation of internal and partner documents: contracts, other administrative documents, (Arabic to English and English to Arabic) when needed.

o   Complete any necessary administrative tasks when required such as research, email…

Essential skills and experience:

o   Relevant degree in Media, International relations…

o   Minimum 2 years’ relevant hands-on media project experience

o   Experience managing budgets and compliance

o   Strong interest in media, development and civil society

o   Excellent written and speaking Arabic and English

o   Excellent organizational and administrative skills with fluency in Microsoft (Word and Excel)

o   Keen attention to detail and an aptitude to proactively address problems

o   Great interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and in team remotely

o   Ability to multi-task, manage time and workload

o   Highly motivated, resourceful, flexible with strong work ethic and desire to learn

Other skills and experience

o   Interest in technology

o   online tools (Google Drive, PGP, VPNs)
