The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a:

 

Project Associate, North Africa at 100%

Based in Tunis 

Starting date: as soon as possible

 

HD has been working on North Africa since 2011. HD works with all parties to de-escalate tensions, reduce the risks of conflict and establish a conducive environment for peace negotiations. The Project Associate (PA) will contribute to North Africa projects by providing assistance to the Project Officer, focusing on the peace process in Libya and other conflict dynamics in the region.

 

The Project Associate will have the following responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the development of HD projects and activities through analysis and substantive support;
  • Contribute to HD’s understanding and analysis of the situation in Libya and North Africa through updates of developments in the country and the region, respectively;
  • In coordination with other staff, draft narrative/review reports for all grants of the project, including monthly updates, interim and final reports to donors;
  • Assist in ensuring the project is reported on a timely and qualitative manner according to grant and donor timelines/requirements; 
  • Attend meetings when requested and assist in taking minutes, drafting correspondence, collecting and compiling meeting information.
  • Draft reports or notes of meetings as requested by the Project Officer;
  • Ensure the smooth running of HD events and meetings in Libya/North Africa through on-site support when necessary.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant function;
  • Fluency in Arabic, French and English required;
  • High quality writing skills, strong research and information analysis skills;
  • Hold a Master’s degree in international relations, humanitarian affairs or mediation;
  • Knowledge of and commitment to conflict resolution, as well as political and cultural knowledge of Libya and/or North Africa;
  • Personality: The successful candidate should be capable of multi-tasking and meet tight deadlines. S/he must be a flexible team player, proactive and have strong social, communication and organisational skills.
