Project Assistant to Program Coordinator
We are looking for a highly motivated team member with a genuine interest in democracy, human rights, and gender equality, who is collaborative, organized, and has strong skills in administrative and financial project support. Under the direct guidance of the Senior Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day management of HBS’s projects within the program focusing on Gender Democracy and Human Rights. This position is based in Tunis, with occasional travel and collaboration with civil society organizations and other stakeholders, in Tunisia and the region.
Tasks and Responsibilities
▪ Provide administrative support for the logistical planning, contracting, and implementation of self-organized program activities and cooperation projects. ▪ Assist with the preparation, documentation, and reporting of program activities, including drafting reports, summaries, and other relevant documentation. ▪ Support the Program Coordinator with financial tasks, including preparing financial reports (for cooperation projects) and assisting with the accounting of self-organized program activities.
▪ Monitor and attend program partners’ activities, applying monitoring tools, managing related documentation, and preparing meeting minutes, memos, and briefings. ▪ Collect data for program monitoring and evaluation, such as press clippings, social media surveys, and other relevant information.
▪ Help coordinate and provide logistical support for internal and public events and meetings, including preparing materials, liaising with participants and guests, securing venues, and ensuring the event runs smoothly within the allocated budget.
▪ Assist in maintaining communication with national and international organizations relevant to the program, as directed by the Program Coordinator.
▪ Support the promotion of program activities through the Foundation’s communication channels, including social media and the website, ensuring effective outreach and visibility.
▪ Assist the Program Coordinator with preparing, reviewing, and adjusting the program budget in compliance with Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung’s internal regulations. ▪ Embody and uphold the principles of gender democracy and human rights in all aspects of work.
Profile
▪ University diploma in social or political science, or a related field.
▪ At least 2 years of relevant work experience in program assistance or coordination with an international organization, national NGO, or in the private sector.
▪ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong knowledge of social media platforms.
▪ Fluency in Arabic, French, and English; knowledge of German is an asset.
▪ Strong communication skills with an understanding of political narratives and debates.
▪ Ability to prioritize tasks, plan, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
▪ Strong problem-solving skills, proactive initiative, the ability to multitask effectively, team-oriented with the capacity to work independently, and thrive under pressure.
Employment Details
▪ Contract Type: A 6-month probation period, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance review.
▪ Employment Regulations: The employment contract will follow local labor laws in Tunisia.
