Programme officer to DTDAs office in Tunis

Do you want to contribute to strengthen DTDA’s partner trade union organisations in the region?

Then this is a great chance to join our MENA Team at the DTDA office in Tunis

The position:

You will be hired as programme officer to the DTDA sub-regional office in Tunis and will be assisting the Head of Office with securing implementation of programme activities, coordination of different programme interventions in the region and provide technical assistance to our partners’ reporting and programme administration. The programme activities are implemented as part of the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP), which is funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

The job tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Project cycle management including administration, monitoring and follow-up on partner narrative and financial reports  
  • Participation in programme implementation meetings with partner organisations 
  • Assist Head of Office in drafting letters, minutes, reports etc.
  • Ensuring coordination and implementation of different partner programmes 
  • Provide technical assistance to partner organisations in development of relevant programme activities in accordance with expected outcomes of the DAPP programme
  • Ensure alignment between programme objectives, activities and budgets
  • Participation in programme activities as resource person
  • Identify relevant news and providing input to articles and social media 
  • Contribute to the development of new labour market development programmes and applications to the donor(s) 
  • Contribute to reports to the donor(s) 

DTDA offers:

An exciting job in a strong organisation with multifarious assignments where you will work closely with colleagues from various countries focusing on labour market organisations in various MENA countries. The position also gives you vast possibilities for developing your own competencies. It may also be required to travel in the region.

Terms of employment:

You will work in Tunis, Tunisia. Salary is determined based on competencies in relation to the level in Tunisia.  Employment will be for the period of 1/3/2021 to 31/12/22, with possibilities of extending the contract if a new program period is approved.

The Danish Trade Union Agency is the Danish trade union movements professional development organisation. The objectives of the DTDA is to promote democracy, worker’s rights, occupational health and safety and poverty reduction which we do by implementing projects that strengthens the labour market in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. 

 

The DTDA programme work in the MENA region is done through a consortium in cooperation with the Danish Employers federation, DI, (Danish Industry) to make use of the long Danish labour market experience in achieving strong progress and a stable labour market through social dialogue. 

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in working with labour market issues
  • Experiences with implementation and administration of development projects including monitoring, preparation of project applications, evaluation reports and other relevant project documents
  • Excellent communication skills as well as command of French and Arabic fluently (written and orally) and ability to use English as working language
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • User experience and knowledge in handling social media platforms and good IT user skills
  • Relevant education
  • Knowledge about issues of trade union work and labour market as social dialogue, collective bargaining agreements, employment policies and labour laws, and experience in working in political organisations is an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge about the political, economic, and cultural conditions in the MENA region is an advantage.
  • Personal competences: Flexibility, willing to take on other assignments, to work flexible hours and days and to travel in the region when necessary. Energetic, initiative, working in teams and can handle and prioritize heavy workload.
  • Experience with adult education will be an advantage.
