Organizational Context and Scope:
Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations. Dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all, IOM provides services and advice to governments and migrants. As the leading UN organization in the field of migration, IOM works closely with its governmental, inter-governmental and non-governmental partners on capacity building and advocacy for policy and legislative practices to ensure the protection
of migrants.
IOM Tunisia works closely with its governmental and non-governmental partners to provide assistance to vulnerable migrants in Tunisia and Tunisian returnees, including Victims of Trafficking, migrants with Health needs and unaccompanied migrant children, and to identify a short, medium and long-term solutions for every migrant assisted. IOM also works closely with its institutional and non-governmental partners to provide emergency assistance to vulnerable migrants, including migrants rescued at sea.
Under the overall supervision of the IOM Tunisia Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Head of Sub Office, Zarzis, the candidate will support with the implementation and monitoring of activities related to shelters, operations and humanitarian assistance implemented in the framework of projects IOM Tunisia programming in the region covered by the Zarzis sub-office.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with the sub-office team and relevant units in IOM office in Tunis all administrative activities related to IOM emergency shelters for vulnerable migrants.
2. Support with the monitoring of activities related to emergency shelters, including
through providing inputs for the performance evaluation of junior shelter staff as may be required.
3. Together with logistics clerk and shelter managers, coordinate the provision of assistance to beneficiaries of the shelters (NFIs, food vouchers…)
4. Coordinate provision of assistance to migrants rescued at sea at disembarkation points and support the Head of Sub-Office with the liaison with relevant partners and authorities.
5. Maintain effective master lists of all beneficiaries to/from IOM emergency shelters with periodic reporting to Project Manager as required, along with timely distribution of departure reports and arrival confirmations for all movements.
6. Support with ensuring compliance of IOM emergency shelters with SHPERE humanitarian standards.
7. Support with referral of beneficiaries to UNHCR and other relevant partners, as may be required.
8. Assist in the implementation of related project activities, including financial, administrative, and technical aspects, in compliance with IOM policies and standards, as well as donor requirements.
9. When requested, participate in referral mechanism meetings in the region covered by
IOM Zarzis sub-office, and support with the strengthening and updating of referral pathways and mechanisms in the region as may be required.
10. Provide briefings to visiting donor missions on IOM shelter and other relevant project activities as may be required.
11. Act as focal point for refugee resettlement movements in the region covered by IOM Zarzis sub-office, including liaison for medical processing, transfer to Tunis, and escort as may be required.
12. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
• Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences, Health, Psychology or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least three (3) years of relevant professional experience or;
• High School degree in the above fields with five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in the field of assistance to vulnerable individuals.
• Experience in working with international or non-governmental organizations.
• Knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
• Previous experience in working with vulnerable migrants in an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in French and Arabic (written and spoken) is required. Good knowledge of English is Advantageous
Other:
• Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances. Vaccination against COVID-19 is required. This will be verified as part of the medical clearance process.
