The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organization engaged in the field of electoral technical assistance around the world. IFES has worked in Tunisia since February 2011 and supports the democratic transition through innovative electoral assistance programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Project Officer, the general duties of the Intern include but are not limited to: 

• Assist the team in the implementation of the activities including drafting notes, contacting partners and doing the data collection. 
• Help the team in drafting internal reports related to the activities.
• Translate and/or interpret in Arabic, French, and English if needed.
• Conducting research and summarizing findings on project findings
• Attend and report on internal and external meetings and other discussions about assigned projects
• Assist with organizing events and meetings in Tunis and in other cities 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree – ideally in international affairs, political science, business management, communication, journalism, marketing or similar or graduate student
• Previous volunteering experiences or internships with NGOs;  
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English as well as in Arabic and French
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working with different groups, partners and nationalities
• Strong level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

The starting date of the internship is January 20, 2023, and there will be stipends to cover only the intern’s transportation fees and meals.
