Oxfam is looking for an “Advocacy Officer”

Job Purpose

Contribute to the development and implementation of Oxfam’s Influencing work at country level, in collaboration with Oxfam staff and partners, and in line with the Worldwide Influencing Network (WIN) transformational goals, the WIN National Influencing Standards and the vision for 2020 programs. This includes policy, advocacy and campaign.

• Type of contract: Fixed term contract (1 year)
• Contract Duration: One year (renewable depending on staff performance and project funding)
• Working hours: Full time (40hours/week)
• Location: Based in Tunis, Tunisia
• Salary & Conditions: According to Oxfam Salary scale and HR policy and conditions in Tunisia.

• Internal Job Grading: D2
• Starting date: As soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Advocacy and campaigning

• Contribute to the development and implementation of Oxfam’s influencing strategy for Tunisia, in line with advocacy and program objectives at national, regional, and global levels.
• Engage with staff and partners in implementing work-plans and activities related to advocacy and campaign work.
• Actively take part in activities requiring Advocacy support in different projects.
• Provide partner organizations with support in developing advocacy materials
• Document and keep track of advocacy processes in which Oxfam is involved with partners
• Ensure compliance with the partnership and influencing principles of Oxfam in all activities with partners.
• Maintain direct contacts with local partner organizations in line with Oxfam policy development, advocacy and campaign work in Tunisia and their organizational development.
• Participate in activities related to Oxfam global campaigns deployed in Tunisia.
• Work closely with the WIN advisor to support planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating national campaigns in which Oxfam is involved.

Support to the team and programs

• Contribute in the process of developing, implementing and monitoring Oxfam Tunisia’s influencing strategy, in collaboration with the WIN advisor and program team
• Contribute in producing policy and position papers
• Produce context analysis in support to the program team
• Share relevant research, reports and resources with the Tunisia Program team
• Contribute into proposal development processes Support in keeping program teams on track with initiatives and developments of local, regional and international context elements.
