About the Organization:
Islamic Relief has been operating in Tunisia since 2011 primarily as a response to the influx of refugees during the Libya Crisis. Since registering an office in Tunisia in 2012, Islamic Relief has set up and managed camps on the Tunisian border and provided humanitarian services to over 15,000. As well as supporting refugees, Islamic Relief has implemented projects in health, water and sanitation, food security and education sectors as well as supporting capacity building of local associations.
The department reinforces IRW’s implementing structure to enable these people and their communities to develop themselves sustainable, and ensures that the organization is prepared to respond promptly and effectively to humanitarian crises. The department increases the organisation’s ability to tackle poverty by developing and fostering partnerships and institutional relationships effectively and proactively, and by ensuring transparent and timely reporting to the organisation’s donors.
About the Job:
The project Assistant under the supervision of the Zone Coordinatorwillparticipate in the implementation of the projects as well as participating in the planning and documentation of the Data and activities.
He/she will ensure the follow up of the activities related to the projects as requested by Line Manager. This also include the preparation of Meeting minutes and reporting in accordance with the pre-set deadlines
He/She will be responsible for documenting files related to each project according to IRW’s filing procedures
He/she will be responsible for translating reports from Arabic/ French to English once requested by Line Manager
He/she will execute additional tasks requested by the Line Manager

• Subordinates: N\A
• Work closely with: project staff.

• Assist in the preparation of the reports (weekly, monthly, interim, final reports)
• Prepare and develop Cases studies
• Draft ToR of activities; activity sheet updates, budget breakdowns, PRs…
• Ensures closer Follow up of the activities related to Libyan Migrants Assistance Project
• Ensure closer follow up to the activities related to “Tunisia Child Friendly School”
• Support the media activities: production and documentation of newsletters, TORs for medias materials, medias reports .
• Assist in Reporting & Follow up of hygiene awareness campaigns. This will also include the community mobilization, the collection of population data, baseline data and KAP surveys.

Scope of the Role:
Work closely with the Program Officer to Design, plan, and follow-up of hygiene promotion activities in collaboration with the Community Development Agent As well as insuring the smooth coordination of program activities such as:
●Prepare activity sheets and make sure to implement the activities related to the project according to the DIP
●Assist in the follow up of the activities implemented by the Implemented partners
●Ensure regular field visits to the implementation sites and prepare reports
●Ensure the organization of files according to IRW’s archiving system
●Communicate All project Data to the project Manager
●Participate in the preparation of the project activities
●Collect and classify the data collected from the field.
●Provide support to the distribution of hygiene cleaning kits and conduct monitoring and follow up to ensure proper usage of items and appropriateness
●Work closely with the project team and participate in the planning of the work plans and organization of events.
●Execute tasks requested by the Line Manager.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning:
Assist the project staff in organizing and documenting the needs assessment data relative to the project.
Collection, consolidation classification and reporting of monthly data, necessary for the consolidation of standard project and strategic disaggregated by age, gender and diversity where appropriate.
Participate in the development of monitoring tools for the hygiene promotion activities

In collaboration with the project Manager, the Project Assistant is requested toContribute to the following reports in total compliance with the deadline.
Ensure the preparation of monthly and quarterly quality reports and submit to Line Manager
Prepare and share meeting minutes
Ensure the translation of Arabic and French reports to English whenever requested by Line Manager
Maintain full qualitative and quantitative records and reports of activities, disaggregated by age, gender and diversity where appropriate

Integration, coordination’s transversal aspects:
Work closely with the Project Manager and relevant staff members to perform the requested duties with utmost professionalism
Assist the project Manager in the meetings held with donors and implementing partners.

Undertake any other duties that maybe assigned by the Line Manager;
Conduct duties in accordance with IRT procedures
Conduct duties in accordance with IRT Code of Conduct, child protection policy and other key documents
Ensure all activities are gender sensitive and follow IRT’ child protection and Gender Equity Policies.
Apply Do No Harm standards to ensure activities do not have detrimental effects on vulnerable children.
Participate in internal office coordination and planning meetings and workshops.
Very good communication and interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of behaviour change in school settings.

Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the Project Manager

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Bachelor degree in English or social sciences
  • Minimum of one (1) year practical work experience working with vulnerable communities including migrants or refugees.
  • Familiarity with key health and hygiene issues and hygiene promotion/educationactivities in schools
  • Ability to communicate and write reports in Arabic, French and English
  • Proven experience in community mobilization.
  • Good knowledge of Administrative works and filing procedures.
  • Experience of workingwith Non-Governmental Organizations desirable. 
  • Deep Understanding of age, gender and diversity issues with regard to WASH Knowledge of minimum WASH standards (e.g. Sphere).
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Flexibility and creativity 
  • Cultural sensitivity (e.g. to age, gender and diversity) 
  • Ability to prioritize large and changeable workloads 
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and energetically
  • A high level of spoken and written French and English is essential.
