Job Title: Junior Wage Employment Specialist
Project: “LIRAS – Livelihoods Initiatives for Refugees and Asylum Seekers”

Direct Supervisor: Project Manager
Project Description:
– The LIRAS project aims to provide assistance for refugees living in economically underserved settings in
Tunisia, with a focus on the cities of Gabes, Mednine, and Sfax, and ensure their access to livelihoods, labour
market assistance, protection and peaceful co-existence with the local community.
In order to develop a sustainable model that can ensure the self-reliance and economic integration of refugees
and asylum seekers in Tunisia, ADRA will work on the following concrete measures:
o Facilitate their access to wage-employment in private sectors
o Facilitate their access to self-employment by establishing lucrative businesses that are competitive and
tailored to the refugee’s vocation and specific skills, while being compliant to Tunisia’s laws and legislations.
Responsibilities of the Position:
1.The Junior Wage Employment Specialist (JWES) will be responsible for assisting project beneficiaries in facilitating their access to wage employment initiatives The JWES will take a coaching and cooperative approach
with project beneficiaries seeking employment that will provide them with competitive incomes.
2.Conduct awareness and information events for project beneficiaries (individually or in group) about project se rvices.
3.Profile and identify project beneficiaries by creating a profile sheet of the beneficiary.
4.Determine refugees’ skills and levels of competencies as it relates to employment.
5.Connect project beneficiaries with wage employment initiatives according to the beneficiary’s skills and training.
6.Interact and network with private companies, public institutions, trade unions, etc., in order to secure
job opportunities according to the skills and training of project beneficiaries.
7. Seek out opportunities for skills training or certification for project beneficiaries needing any complementary training, certification or services , in order to increases chances of beneficiary’s employability.
8.Assist in the procurement of any safety equipment or tools needed for project beneficiaries beginning work or on -the- job training
.
9.Ensure that the rights and protection of the project beneficiary is respected and up to the same standard as any other employees within the same company.
10.Ensure that project beneficiaries are receiving competitive wages.
11.Use socio-economic assessments as a guide to wage employment initiatives.
12.Participate and attend partner coordination meetings.
13.Create clear, detailed, objective, and reportable reports as it relates to wage employment initiatives.
14. Provide personal coaching and training for project beneficiaries during the whole process of the wage employment initiative.
15.Create project reports on a weekly/bi-weekly basis for the Project Manager and Country Director.
16. Advise the Management Team on wage employment initiatives.
17.Perform all other relevant duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor(s).
