International Organization for Migration (IOM) Libya in Tunis is looking for a Project Assistant according to the terms of reference stipulated below.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Officer and the overall supervision of the Senior Operations Officer, the incumbent will support the implementation of AVRR operations in compliance with IOM established procedures to ensure orderly and timely movements and reintegration of returnees in their countries of return.

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide travel assistance to the beneficiaries in close coordination with other colleagues;
  •  Organize return and reintegration activities in Countries of Origin (CoO) and liaise with embassies and governments, IOM offices in CoO in order to ensure provision of targeted assistance;
  • Cooperate to promote synergy between IOM projects in order to guarantee a comprehensive assistance to migrants in need;
  •  Monitor reintegration expenditures and prepare monthly financial reports per receiving country;
  •  Maintain an updated record of reintegration cases and files, ensuring the confidentiality of the data. Record keeping and maintenance of all reintegration
  • Support communication and visibility actions of the AVVR project;
  • Support the liaison between Government, civil society, UN and other relevant partners regarding reintegration activities. Assist in organizing trainings, roundtables and events with beneficiaries, civil society organizations, NGOs, embassies and all other relevant stakeholders with the aim to promote projects’ activities and disseminate results;
  •  Assist in monitoring and evaluation of IOM’s ongoing AVRR projects. This includes drafting of monitoring and evaluation reports;
  •  Reporting and support the information exchange on all operational aspects of the projects between IOM, the programme’s donors and other stakeholders;
  •  Support in designing and preparing training materials, case studies exercises accordingly;
  •  Support the maintenance of a network of service providers for vulnerable migrants in Libya;
  •  Perform any other duties assigned.

V. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Education and Experience

  • Operations –Bachelor degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Humanitarian Assistance or a related field from an accredited academic institution;
  •  Five years of relevant professional experience;
  •  Experience working with an international organisation, UN agency or NGO would be desirable;
  •  Experience liaising with government authorities, other national institutions and NGOs would be considered an advantage.

VI. LANGUAGES Required

  • English
  • Fluent Advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Arabic or French is an advantage
