Inkyfada’s editorial staff is recruiting journalists based in Tunis
Inkyfada is an independent non-profit media based in Tunis that aims to serve the collective and public interest. The inkyfada team is committed to stand up for quality journalism amidst an ever-growing flood of information where contextualization is lacking. Within a newsroom where journalists work in close collaboration with developers and graphic designers, the team is part of a larger group of alternative, innovative and resolutely forward-looking media.
Missions
- Research and investigation
- Drafting and editing articles (feature stories, firsthandaccounts, investigations, contextualisation articles, etc…)
- Participation in editorial meetings and any other editorial activity requiring the collaboration of journalists
Critères d'éligibilité
- ● It is not mandatory to have a background in journalism to be eligible for this position
- ● Candidates must imperatively be fully fluent in one of the three languages of Inkyfada: Arabic, French, English
- ● Ideally able to read Arabic and understand the Tunisian dialect
- ● Strong knowledge of the socio-political and cultural context of Tunisia: interest in following the news and in subjects related to public interest (corruption, discrimination, inequaliy, etc.)
- ● Rigorous and high-qualitywriting
- ● Knowledge or at least interest in audiovisual production tools and techniques (video, podcast)
- ● Strongly desired: understanding of notions of law, knowledge of the functioning of institutions, experience or interest in the work of civil society
