Title: HR Consultant
Base: Tunis, Tunisia
Description: The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is seeking a Tunis based HR Consultant. The position supports in the implementation of IWPR Tunisia and Libya personnel policies, practices and regulations and in the management of human resources and the development of templates and procedures and to and assist senior management in all HR-related program implementation as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of and in close coordination with the Country Director, the HR Consultant is to lead and/or support on the following tasks:
- Organize existing employment files in soft and hard copies
- Maintain and update the list of the documents per Tunisia and Libya labor laws and requirements
- Ensure that all employment files are regularly updated in soft and hard copies
- Maintain and update the checklist of the documents to be filed in the personnel file Help create and maintain processes to be completed during on boarding per existing labor laws and organizational policies
- Coordinate with the staff and management to ensure all contracts are upto- date and all files are complete
- Supports creating Job Definitions, Terms of References and any other documents for new hires
- Coordinate recruitment processes for new hires
- Coordinate on-boarding and off-boarding process of staff and/or consultants as requested by management
- Monitors performance reviewing processes and ensures that they are upto-date.
- Monitors the progress of contractual agreements and ensure that management is updated about their status on a timely fashion to allow for terminating or renewing them.
- As needed, assists in preparation of contractual agreements ensuring appropriate terms and conditions are included to protect the organizations’ interest
- Trains, guides, and advises staff and/or consultants as needed
- Ensures adherence to Standards of Conduct, the Employee Handbook, and other corporate and applicable policies, procedures, and schedules.
- Makes recommendations concerning employment, performance appraisals, salary actions, and other personnel actions.
- Resolves routine HR problems as they arise.
- Performs other duties and undertakes other projects as may be assigned from time to time.
