Scope of Work

Refugee.Info is an innovative, first-of-its-kind project that harnesses social media to communicate with refugees and asylum-seekers, listen to their questions and provide information. It began in 2015 in Greece and is a collaboration between the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Mercy Corps (MC).

We provide information in 6 languages (Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, French, English and Tigrinya) for refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants in Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Italy and have plans to expand further afield in Europe and West Africa (France and Germany are the next countries we have our sights on).

We are now seeking a dedicated and self-starting graphic designer to work with us ensuring our content is engaging, on-brand, optimized for social media and community-led.

Work is completed remotely and all communication is done online (through digital tools, primarily Slack). Tasks will be assigned by the Refugee.Info editorial team.

We’re looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday) over two and a half months starting in August 2018

Design Evaluation:

1. Please design a small flyer for Refugee.Info, Greece. One that can be distributed in community centers, safe spaces and refugee camps.

The flyer’s purpose is to get people to visit the refugee.info Facebook page.

• Must be a 1/4 of this page in size.
• Eye catching and engaging.
• Convey information in a simple manner – not overwhelming.
• Sensitive to the people we are creating this for and with.
• Must make use of the Refugee Info color palette:
  • main colors: fdda14, ffffff, 000000
  • secondary: 29991f, e60000, 2680bf, f5f5f5

If you are a recognized refugee, you are allowed to get married in Greece. To get a marriage licence, you will need:

• Your Residence Permit, Travel Document or national Passport.
• A proof of address.
• A copy of your birth certificate.
• A certificate that there are no obstacles to marriage from your any authority of your country.

Please get creative with this, how to best display this information in a way that will draw attention and have them learn more.
