Description:
The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is seeking a Tunis-based Project Accountant for a short-term (4 month) consultancy. The position will support the implementation of multiple projects. This position is contingent on project funding.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
- Supports the Financial Director in the management of all current programs.
- Assists in the preparation and analysis of budgets, assists in preparation of financial reports.
- Supports the finance department in ensuring that Program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
- Assists in the execution of annual financial audits of program and helps ensure that sub grantees comply with all audit and financial review requirements.
- Assists in maintaining updated information regarding all reporting requirements and financial restrictions.
- Assists in ensuring all regular and ad hoc reports are completed on time and accurately.
- Oversees all areas of finance and accounting that are being undertaken by direct reports.
- Collects, records and archives all financial transaction documents (receipts, invoices) related to all IWPR grants.
- Assists in the completion of all end of month financial reporting for related grants, including FOMER documents.
- Liaises with IWPR operations and program managers to coordinate and collect the necessary documents (receipts, invoices) to complete the monthly financial reporting in a timely fashion.
- Liaises with the Country Director and Finance Manager on issues of budget and BVA analysis, monthly project spend-down plans and potential budget re-alignments, in order to flag potential under/over spends ahead of program close down.
