Hilfswerk Austria International (HWA) is one of Austria’s leading organizations for development cooperation and humanitarian aid operating since 1978. In 2016, HWA supported projects and programs in 15 countries worldwide. HWA is part of the umbrella organisation Hilfswerk Österreich which is one of the leading social organizations in Austria. Hilfswerk Austria conducts its activities according to the principles of sustainable development and the universal Human Rights. Through projects and programs focusing on sectorial expertise, the organization aims at improving sustainably the life and perspectives of the beneficiaries in project countries. HWAs projects are financed through national and international project funding for development cooperation and disaster relief as well as through private donations, sponsorship and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships. HWA is a reliable partner of many donors, such as European Commission, UNHCR, UNICEF, Austrian Development Cooperation, USAID, LED, OFID and other public and private institutions.
In 2012, HWA has launched its activities in Tunisia to position as a leading non-profit organisation focusing on fighting unemployment through skills development, capacity building, inclusive business development as well as community development of vulnerable groups with special emphasis on women and youth. A solid track-record has been developed since 2012 through a flagship program labeled “Skills to Succeed (STS)”, which is a community development program implemented by Hilfswerk Austria International in Tataouine, one of the poorest governorates and marginalized areas in the South of Tunisia. The program started in October 2012 and is showcased through vocational training, economic development initiatives and civil society capacity building programs aiming to boost employability and income generation through targeted training and business/economic development platforms.
We are seeking to hire a Project Manager who will be an integral member of the Hilfswerk Austria International team and responsible for delivering and building projects of varying size and complexity.
The Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities in Tunis. The main focus of projects is on economic development, community innovation and social entrepreneurship, focusing on rural and marginalized areas of the country.
