Tunisia’s National School Feeding Programme (NSFP) reaches 260,000 children fully funded by the national government, Tunisia’s investment in school feeding totaled USD 13 million in the school year 2019/2020.

The programme is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and is implemented in a highly decentralized manner, where all food procurement and management is done at the school level. A key objective of the collaboration between WFP and the Tunisian Government is to ensure the most vulnerable girls and boys are reached through a quality and high-impact school feeding programme to advance education, nutrition, and social protection outcomes. With support from WFP, and as a result of a partnership to enhance the NSFP active since 2014, serving a warm and nutritious lunch at mid-day has become a cornerstone of the on-going Education Reform.
