Tetra Tech International Development Services  (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Chief of Party position on a USAID funded program in Tunisia.

The purpose of the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Tunisia Civil Society & Good Governance Activity is to facilitate a productive relationship between civil society and the Government of Tunisia, focusing on three key roles of civil society in a middle-income, democratic country: 1) advocacy/ campaigner (for example advocating for changes in existing laws to facilitate reforms), 2) watchdog (for example, monitoring of reforms and human rights issues), and 3) participant in global governance processes (for example, the open government partnership standards, advisory boards of investment funds, etc.). The program will work nationwide, differentiating between the capacity-building needs of smaller, regional NGOs, Associations, think-tanks and other types of local organizations and more developed, Tunis-based CSOs, creating linkages networks, and platforms for knowledge sharing, partnerships, and joint-action.

Position Description: 

Provides technical and managerial oversight in implementing the program’s gender approach, including supporting integration of gender considerations into activity design and implementation, knowledge sharing and learning related to gender and vulnerable positions, and implementation of gender analyses. Co-organizes and facilitates training and capacity-building sessions for target populations. At a minimum, applicants should have demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: gender equality, gender-based violence, LGBTQ and youth issues, economic inclusion. Experience promoting digital technologies (including Social Media) preferred. Experience working in the public and/or government sector preferred.
