Role Information:
Role purpose:
The Fund manager is responsible for the implementation and overall coherence of the Grants Fund assigned to him/her (Tfanen has 3 major grant funds: Local cultural engagement fund, Fund to structure and sustain cultural organizations, Fund to support local development strategies)
Under the supervision and with the support of the Head of operations, the Fund manager will be involved in all steps of the grants-making process of that fund, from the initial stages (notably call for proposal design and launch, proposals evaluation, selection and negotiation phase) to the final steps (grants administrative close out).
The Fund manager works in autonomy for the daily management of grants, to attend events, conduct site visits and monitor projects. He/she is the focal point for the fund untrusted to him/her and regularly reports (orally and in writing) on achievement and progress of the individual grants projects, and of the projects grouped together within the fund.
He/she provides a high level of monitoring and support to the projects within his/her portfolio, through internal coordination with colleagues within the Tfanen project (for example for timely approval of reports and issuing of payment tranches), or by connecting them to visibility, mentoring, capacity building or funding opportunities within or outside Tfanen.
He/she supervises the work of the grants officer and grants team assistant who will issue grants contracts and POs to ensure a smooth grants disbursement process.
The role will support the achievement of British Council corporate standards and the achievement of relevant policies and procedures.

Geopolitical/SBU/Function overview:
The Tfanen project is implemented through a PAGoDA Contract led by the British Council on behalf of/in partnership with EUNIC which was branded as ‘Tfanen Tunisie Creative’. The project specifically aims to stimulate a local collaborative approach in the view of supporting the creation of a social and cultural ecosystem, inclusive for all groups of the society. The project will aim to 1) Promote cultural diversity and access to culture in Tunisia, targeting in particular vulnerable populations; and 2) Support the freedom of expression and creation, increased international exposure and knowledge-sharing.
Tfanen Project’s approach is locally-geared, socio-sensitive, participative, inclusive and positive in order to help create a favorable environment for creation and freedom of expression, contribute towards more long term social cohesion, and increase the socio-economic impact of culture throughout the country.
