FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Disability Inclusion Officer for the organization’s USAID Tunisia Resilience and Community Empowerment (TRACE)/ Ma3an program, which will increase the capacity of communities to withstand political, social, and economic stresses and shocks by achieving the objectives of: 1) strengthened community resilience, 2) mitigated community vulnerabilities, and 3) improved capacity of Tunisian partners to sustain and replicate the model. Ma3an will spur 30 of Tunisia’s most vulnerable communities to action and generate sustainable resources for development in areas that are vulnerable to instability and violent extremism (VE). Together with USAID/Tunisia’s programs in accountability, decentralization, and youth entrepreneurship (i.e., TADAEEM and Mashrou3i), Ma3an will consolidate democratic progress while fostering social cohesion in target areas.

Job Summary

The Disability Inclusion Officer will work with program team and the gender and social inclusion (GESI) advisor, to support the implementation of the GESI plan in relation to the inclusion of people with disabilities in Ma3an activities with partners and in the workplaces (Headquarter and regional offices) S/he will report to the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Advisor (GESI)

Position Responsibilities

  • S/he will support in assessing the impacts of activities on people with disabilities and developing recommendations and input on inclusion policies, data sets and activity design on how to ensure inclusion and accommodation of needs of people with disabilities and maximize their access to all programmatic aspects of the project;
  • S/he will prepare and deliver presentations on disability inclusion related topics/activities, etc.
  • S/he will coordinate logistics and support the budgeting for relevant events;
  • S/he will work with teams to identify disability focal points with partners, counterparts and stakeholders;
  • Liaise between the central and Regional Offices relevant counterparts on disability inclusion issues
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from staff, donor and partners. Performs other duties as assigned;

Critères d'éligibilité

  • BS/BA or its international equivalent in conflict mitigation, youth development, international relations, social sciences, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred;
  • A minimum of three (3) years professional experience of working on social inclusion of persons with disabilities and on donor-funded programs related to community development projects;
  • Knowledge of the disability sector and laws in Tunisia
  • Experience with USAID rules and regulations and experience working in an international NGO environment highly desirable;

  • Experience working with youth at the community level;
  • Familiarity with GESI, Do No Harm/ conflict sensitivity, and social inclusion approaches;
  • Experience working on Capacity Building of CSOs;
  • Excellent Facilitation and training Skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent English and Arabic writing skills;
  • Fluent in oral Arabic and English.
