POSITION: Finance and Administrative Assistant

LOCATION:                       Tunis, Tunisia

OPENING DATE: December 4, 2017

CLOSING DATE: December 15, 2017

WORK PERIOD: Full-time (40 hours/week) for one year contract with possibility for extension.

HIRING STATUS: Full time fixed-term contract, with a probationary period of 3 months.

SALARY: A competitive salary will be offered and negotiated based on the candidate’s salary/rate history and the position’s requirements.

FHI 360 is implementing a pilot project in three target communities in Tunisia that seeks to develop locally-owned strategies to support community resilience and increase youth engagement, and opportunities for youth. The project will work with local partner organizations and strengthen their capacity in the program areas.


BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations of the organization and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the project. S/he will report to the Administration and Finance Manager.




  • Prepare and process the payments ensuring that the support documentation is complete and accurate
  • Ensure that all expenditures are correctly allocated across projects and accounts
  • Scan all the finance documentation and upload it to Sharepoint
  • Ensure consistency between scanned documentation and hard copies backup
  • Maintain updated the finance records of the organization daily
  • Prepare financial reports and bank reconciliation bi-weekly
  • Keep track of the withholding taxes and make sure they are paid at the end of the month
  • Keep track of the prepaid expenses and reconcile all the accounts monthly
  • Review and process the perdiems for travelers
  • Collect and review local staff timesheets
  • Maintain updated the leave tracker for the local staff
  • Back-up the Admin & Fin Manager as needed
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working on administration and finances
  • Previous experience working on a project funded by a donor is highly desirable
  • Mastering of MS Excel is mandatory and proficiency with accounting software
  • Applied knowledge of accounting principles and US donors’ rules and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team
  • Fluency in French, Arabic and English
  • Tunisian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply
