Type of contract: Fixed term, initial one year with three months probation period and renewable based on performance .  

 

Job Context: 

 

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground (ICCG) is a Tunisian peacebuilding NGO that aims to promote sustainable social cohesion in North African societies through conflict transformation. It is a newly established Tunisian organization that builds on the legacy and experience of the international peacebuilding NGO Search for Common Ground in Tunisia.

Ifrikya Center for Common Ground in Tunisia:

ICCG’s strategy for Tunisia includes promoting the culture of dialogue and diversity through the involvement of all parts of society while building their capacities. ICCG works in Tunisia to help members of Tunisian society to address conflicts and differences constructively through cooperation and dialogue. ICCG works across multiple channels, mainly with youth, CSOs, media actors, and local authorities to build the capacity of individuals and institutions to address challenges including differences and act on common points. ICCG’s main strategic objectives include: (i) promoting peace education; (ii) fostering non-violent social dialogue; (iii) enhancing participatory and inclusive governance; and (iv) transforming violent extremism.

The Ifrikya Center for Common Ground seeks to hire an experienced Design Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to support the program team on implementing timely and high-quality  activity and achieving the project’s ultimate results . The DM&EO will also monitor  and evaluate related tasks through implementing a monitoring system for collecting/tracking regular progress updates and informing management through formal reporting aspects.

 

  • Role and Responsibilities: 

 

The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Track project’s output and outcome level results, respectively on a regular and periodic basis, in close coordination with the program  team. 
  •  Attend all the project activities including the one in  the schools and the respective regions to capture and document outputs 
  • conduct baseline and end line surveys as required by ME&L plan.
  • Ensure that M&E data collected is stored on the project database according to standards outlined in ME&L plan.
  • Ensure the data entry and management of all project  activities on the project database. 
  • As required, contribute to collecting success stories, documenting best practice, lessons learned; and update and manage those information in project’s reports and other knowledge products.
  •  Ensure that the program team has the necessary capacity and resources to produce timely and high-quality reports that are responsive to donors’ requirements.
  •  Assist the project team to prepare project reports through providing M&E related information
  • Conduct participatory monitoring activities and data collection and field visits as required through individual interviews, phone interviews, pre/post testing, focus group discussions, and visits.
  • Strengthen M&E capacities of program staff and partners by designing and implementing capacity-building activities.

 

Perform other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibility as assigned.

 

  • Education and Experience: 

 

  • A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in M&E and learning functions on donor-funded
  • programs related to community development, peace building , youth engagement, local governance, or civil society strengthening projects. 
  • Experience with Canadian rules and regulations and experience working in an international NGO
  • environment highly desirable;
  • Familiarity with peacebuilding, social inclusion and conflict mitigation approaches;
  •  Strong understanding of the political and social context in Tunisia;
  •  Fluent in written and oral Arabic, and very good working knowledge of English.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of applying various monitoring tools, including logical framework, theory of change and result indicators
  • Understanding of data privacy standards;
  • Experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent data management, oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis software and basic computer skills are required. Good interpersonal,
  • communications, and facilitation skills.

 

3.Skills and competencies : 

 

  •  Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, often challenging environment with minimal supervision.
  •  Ability to work through stringent deadlines with attention to detail, and coordinate and compile information from various sources.
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with colleagues in an open and constructive way.
