Description:

WeWorld-GVC, constituted from the merger of two NGOs, is an Italian secular and independent organization working since 1971 in international cooperation and humanitarian aid. Present in 29 countries with 128 projects, WeWorld-GVC operates in the following areas of assistance: human rights (gender equality, prevention and combating violence against children and women, migration), humanitarian aid (prevention, emergency relief and rehabilitation), food security, access to water, health and hygiene, education, global citizenship education, quality teaching and international volunteering. WeWorld-GVC works mostly with girls, boys, women and youth, actors of change in every community for a fairer and more inclusive world. Supports people overcoming emergencies and guarantees a life with dignity, opportunities and a better future through human and economic development programs, in the framework of the 2030 Agenda. Joining the WeWorld-GVC team means being part of the development of a dynamic organization where the contribution of each staff member is promoted and valued, working together towards the collective achievement of shared goals and vision. 

At present, the main donors are Italy (AICS), the EU (DG ECHO), UNICEF, OCHA, and Belgium (DGD).

 

Working context:

 

WeWorld-GVC in Tunisia

WW-GVC has been operating in Tunisia since 2012 through the implementation of the following intervention sectors:

  • Socio-economic and rural development
  • Human rights
  • Good local governance and community driven development
  • Prevention of violent extremism (PVE)
  • Mainstreaming sectors: Strengthening civil society & Gender equity

 

In Tunisia, WW-GVC has a main office in Tunis and a field presence in Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine and Kebili.

The main donors are the Italian Interior Ministry, the Italian Cooperation AICS, and Italian provinces.

 

WeWorld-GVC in Libya

WeWorld-GVC has been operating in Libya since 2018 through the implementation of the following intervention sectors:

  • Humanitarian Aid for host, displaced, migrant and refugee populations through projects promoting access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), primary health, etc.
  • Capacity building of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
  • Promoting respect for Human Rights, in connection with the field of humanitarian protection

 

In Libya, WW-GVC has its main office in Tripoli and a field presence in the West of Tripoli and the South region (Sebha, Ubari, Ghat, Wadi Ashati etc.).  

The main donors are EU Trust fund for Africa and AICS. 

 

Job description

 

The position will lie under the line management of the Tunisia/Libya Program Coordinator.

The Data Analyst will work on the three main tasks:

  1. Support the Mission in various Data Analysis activities related to ongoing programs / projects and/or programmatic plan of the Mission
  2. Support the Mission in various M&E activities related to ongoing programs / projects
  3. Support Burkina Faso Mission in the revision of CPA and implementation of IPA

 

It will require active communication and coordination with the PMs, Protection & Gender officer, M&E officers and the field team, including by participating and establishing any necessary meetings and communication channels to achieve its objectives.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support Libya and Tunisia Mission in various data analysis activities related to ongoing programs / projects and/or programmatic plan of the Mission

 

  1. Support the Projects Managers (PM) in structuring, designing, processing the data collection and analysis for the field need assessments of recently launched projects: EUTF and AICS Hospital project in Libya 
  2. Support and lead in the design and roll out of Rapid or Full Need Assessments for Proposal writing (pipeline Libya)
  3. Contribute in monitoring data collection ensuring the quality of the data and of processes for the assessments outcomes.
  4. Drafting analytical products based on the data collected by the field team and collaborate with partners and WW GVC staff in drafting data analysis reports of projects.
  5. Organizing with the Program Coordinator and PM the review of analytical products with the local team in order to finalize the reports
  6. Contribute to the restitution / dissemination of analytical products with the staff / partners / external stakeholders
  7. Train field team on Data Collection methodologies and tools and for the maintenance of a sustainable and structured database

 

  • Support the Mission in various M&E activities related to ongoing programs / projects

 

  1. Support PM in developing M&E plan for the ongoing projects in TUN/LYB, such as EUTF EQUAL, AICS Hospital and CROLET
  2. Lead and capitalize M&E working groups as part of Consortium to develop required methodologies, according to different needs presented
  3. Design baseline & impact surveys for ongoing projects and lead the Consortium implementation.
  4. Managing Kobo database and regularly monitoring data collection processes and ensuring the precision, accuracy and ethical data collection and usage for the missions’ projects
  5. Design and launch an online database to monitor the progress of the projects/programs and to produce an M&E dashboard to be regularly maintained and updated.

 

  • Support Burkina Faso and Mali Missions 
  1. Support the Senior Protection manager in the process of revision, optimization and implementation of the CPA/ IPA WeWorld-GVC global methodology in the different geographic areas of interventions.
  2. Design mechanism to ensure quality of data to be analysed considering any data cleaning/wrangling needed before the process of analysis
  3. Provide technical advice, if required, on designing data collection processes and quality assessments for other data sources
  4. Monitor and assess the quality of data collection processes ensuring quality of data collected 
  5. Capitalize on lessons learnt on implementation if any
  6. If needed do capacity building activities for internal stakeholders regarding data analysis
  7. Communicate with the Digital & IT dpt to discuss on the integration of the developed analysis in the IPA 
  8. Support WeWorld-GVC National Protection Coordinator /Protection officers in the design of the implementation of the CP/ IPA and its technical follow up
  9. Support the WeWorld-GVC National Protection Coordinator in the design of the implementation of the IPA and its technical follow up

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • BSc/BA/BEng in Social Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics, or related field
  • Fluency in English and French is mandatory

 

Professional experience

  • At least 2 year of specific experience in the field of data analysis
  • Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and information management.
  • Experience in working with humanitarian organizations
  • Experience in programming in Rstudio 
  • Knowledge of data visualization softwares (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).

DESIDERABLE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of Arabic and Italian would be considered an asset

Previous working experiences in Libya and/or Tunisia and/or West Africa
