Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator of Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), the Data Analysis Assistant will be responsible for the responsibilities listed below.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the supervisor, contribute to the management of databases, dataset extraction for analysis and data representation.
- Lead the data cleaning process to ensure the timely delivery of data.
- Analyse micro-data collected during DTM’s regular rounds, including multivariate analysis.
- Provide data visualization support for DTM’s Reporting Officer to ensure DTM’s data is easily understood by its audience.
- Verify the information and accuracy of data in the physical forms/questionnaire and correct before processing into IOM’s database system.
- Consolidate data collected through routine DTM systems and ad-hoc surveys and assessments and draft reports.
- Periodic analysis of flow monitoring questionnaires and data anomalies submitted by DTM enumerators and mobility tracking forms received from implementing partners.
- Participate in the revision of the tools and training of the surveyors, when needed.
- Ensure of proper archiving/saving of the data collected and of the maintenance of the equipment used in the field as per established procedures.
- Draft trainings’ note for files (NFF) and meetings’ reports.
