Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

That means we tackle the inequality that keeps people poor. Together we save, protect and rebuild lives. When disaster strikes, we help people build better lives for themselves, and for others. We take on issues like land rights, climate change and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can enjoy life free from poverty.

We are an international confederation of 20 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

All our work is led by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness.

The Role

In Tunisia, the threats to people living in poverty and to human rights are many, varied, and complex.

Women, youth and vulnerable groups are the main change agents in projects related to governance of socio-economic policies both at local and national levels, space for civil society, gender justice and economic justice.

The Country Director will be responsible, with support from affiliates and Regional Platform to implement Oxfam’s vision which aims to create a stronger Oxfam that is globally coordinated and relevant in every country in which we work.

The Country Director will contribute to and implement Oxfam’s Global strategy, by providing vision and strategic direction to all of Oxfam’s work in the Country. This includes Oxfam’s humanitarian responses, long term development program design and implementation, advocacy and policy and influencing.
