The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate, and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a: Logistics and Administration Coordinator

Based in Tunis,
Starting date: 15.09.2017

HD has been involved in Libya since April 2011, supporting dialogue between Libyan stakeholders on a number of contentious issues at both the local and national level. While it maintains a permanent staff presence in Tripoli and Benghazi, much of its project support work is conducted from Tunisia. In addition, HD also supports the Tunisian democratic transition through targeted dialogue and mediation support where necessary.

HD seeks to recruit a Logistics and Administration Co-ordinator to join its North Africa and Near East team. Reporting to the Project Manager, based in Geneva, the Logistics and Administration Co-ordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the logistics and administration of HD’s projects in Libya and in Tunisia;
  • Oversee the organisation of events and meetings in the MENA region, including visa applications, flight bookings and hotel reservations, as well as preparation of meeting documentation;
  • Prepare the monthly office financial reports and the calculations of accruals;
  • Oversee some areas of personnel administration such as managing the consultants’ files, leave balances of team members, and timesheets;
  • Ensure compliance with HD’s and donors’ policies and procedures.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar or relevant function (prior experience in event organisation is mandatory)
  • Experience working with international not-for-profit organisations
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Strong command of English and Arabic
  • Knowledge of French would be considered as a strong asset
  • Solid IT skills in MS-Office, especially Excel
  • The successful applicant should demonstrate personal commitment, flexibility and a strong eye for details
  • Be able to work under time constraints and possess excellent organisational skills.
  • S/he should be able to work independently and as a team player, and be at ease with maintaining relationships with colleagues and interlocutors who are geographically scattered
