🌟 ABOUT THE SABEEL PROGRAM: The SABEEL Program is a transformative three-year initiative in Tunisia, aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of newly released ex-detainees. Our mission is to tackle the pressing challenges of high recidivism rates and prison overpopulation in Tunisia.

🔍 RESEARCH AND OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: BEDER Organization is thrilled to announce a competition for groundbreaking research papers under its Research Center, in alignment with the SABEEL Program’s goals. We are inviting brilliant minds to contribute and shed light on two pivotal topics:

1. Post Release: Gender specific challenges of post release reintegration.
2. From Prison to Extremism: Delving into the invisible line between serving prison time and the vulnerability to violent extremism.

🏆 PRIZES: The best research papers for each topic will receive a significant cash prize! (1st place: 3000 TND, 2nd Place: 2000 TND and 3rd Place: 1000 TND)

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

1. Choose Your Topic: Decide between the two topics mentioned above.
2. Submit Your Proposition: 

• Refined Topic
•  Research questions
•  Methodology.

1. Selection Process: Our team will review all methodological propositions and shortlist the most relevant ones. If selected, you’ll be invited to participate in the competition and notified no later than October 27th, 2023
2. Write & Submit Your Paper: If shortlisted, craft your research paper ensuring it’s original, insightful, and adheres to academic standards. Submit your final work by November 17th, 2023.
3. Wait for Evaluation: Our panel of experts will review the final entries and the winners will be announced on November 25th, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

• Open to law/psychology and social science students/graduates/practitioners, or other relevant backgrounds.
• Research papers/ Articles must be original and unpublished.
• The paper could be written in English, French or Arabic.
• Maximum word count: 5000 words (excluding references).
