CALL FOR EXPERTS

Ethical Journalism, Media Practice, and Reporting on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB)

Attalaki is seeking to engage qualified media and communications experts to contribute to the design and delivery of a specialized training workshop for media practitioners, as well as to the development of a practical media guide for journalists and digital content producers.

This initiative forms part of a broader effort to strengthen professional media capacities, promote accurate and ethical reporting, and reinforce responsible journalism on issues related to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) and minority rights.

Media professionals play a central role in shaping public understanding of diversity and pluralism. Reporting on sensitive issues related to religious diversity and minority communities requires rigorous verification, ethical decision-making, balanced narrative framing, and adherence to professional journalism standards. Within this context, the initiative adopts a practical and skills-based approach, focusing on strengthening professional reporting practices and supporting informed public debate.

Objective of the Assignment

The assignment aims to:

  • Support the development and facilitation of a practice-oriented training workshop targeting journalists, journalism students, podcasters, and digital media producers.
  • Contribute to the preparation of a concise practical guide designed as a reference tool for media professionals.

The overall objective is to strengthen ethical journalism practices, improve the quality and accuracy of reporting on FoRB and minority-rights issues, and equip media practitioners with practical tools for responsible reporting.

Scope of Work

Selected experts will be expected to:

  • Expert-led technical presentations.
  • Moderated discussions.
  • Practical fact-checking exercises.
  • Crisis and press simulation exercises.
  • Collaborative production and review of trial media content.

  • Contribution to a concise and practical media guide.
  • Development of applied materials, including case studies, reporting checklists, annotated news examples, and verification tools.

The guide will be designed as a professional resource, accessible and directly usable by journalists, digital media practitioners, and journalism students.
