The British Embassy in Tunis is looking to recruit a full-time Corporate Services Officer to join its dynamic and customer-focused Corporate Services Section. Working at the British Embassy offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to grow professionally while collaborating with a talented group of individuals.

Objective:

To support and assist the Corporate Services Section in the smooth running of day to day management operations with specific focus on external activities. The primary focus of the job is to provide support to the team in protocol, estates and procurement tasking. It will be important to remain flexible throughout.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Protocol work:
    o Provide assistance and support to our logistics team specifically in the clearance of freight and personal effects from customs.
    o Develop network of contacts within port and airport authorities to ensure safe and efficient passage of Embassy goods and vehicles through official channels, and assume a problem solving role for difficult issues.
    o The submission and follow up of official MFA notes and franchises
    o Focal point for Tunisian customs
    o Clearance of vehicles, liaison with customs authorities and obtaining registration cards.
  • Estates Assistance:
    o Supervision of some property maintenance
    o Procurement
    o Support to the Estates Manager for official events
  • General Corporate Services Assistance:
    o General CS tasking within the section and ensuring procurement with GPC for the areas within his/her jurisdiction.
    o The sourcing of new suppliers and VFM purchasing will form a secondary objective.
    o The job holder will be a Prism Role user and fill in for other Prism users {Requisitioners/Receivers} as necessary.

Working Hours and Remuneration:
Conditioned working hours are 40 hours gross per week. Standard working hours are from 08:00 am to 16:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. 08:00 – 13:00 on Fridays. The Embassy is committed to ensuring that you are able to maintain a suitable work-life balance. Additional time worked out of hours will be compensated through an agreed Time off in Lieu process.
The British Embassy in Tunisia offers an attractive working environment and remuneration package of 1,787 TND for this role.
The successful candidate will be subject to a 90 day probationary period. The appointment is also subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Flexibility, adaptability and patience to deal with internal and external requests for estates work/development and protocol requirements
  • Experience of team working and line management, good self starter, dynamic and accountable.
  • The ability to work independently without close supervision and produce creative solutions;
  • Prepared to take responsibility for projects and see them through to conclusion
  • Proven team working experience and strong inter-personal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Arabic.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office packages;
  • Some technical/agricultural knowledge would be an advantage
  • Prepared to hold and use a Global Procurement Card
  • Valid driving licence
  • Prior experience working for a diplomatic mission
