Job Purpose:
Reporting to North Africa Country Director, the Research Manager will lead the in-country North Africa research team in Tunis to design and pilot research instruments, conduct qualitative research fieldwork, analyse quantitative and qualitative data, interpret findings, and present research results.
Main Duties:
- Deliver high-quality research, with technical support and direction from the Research and Learning Team in London.
- Design, and support others to design, robust research plans and qualitative research instruments.
- Undertake qualitative research data collection, for instance focus group discussions and in depth interviews with training participants and key stakeholders.
- Undertake, and support others to undertake qualitative data analysis, ensuring that the interpretation supports development of project activities such as training and TV and online media outputs.
- Undertake analysis of quantitative monitoring data.
- Write research reports, presentations and other dissemination products in a range of formats to fulfil the requirements of audiences including media creative and production teams, donors and the communication for development/media development communities.
- Engage proactively and collaboratively with non-research staff in Tunis and London to support the development and use of research in the production of BBC Media Action’s creative outputs.
