An opportunity has arisen for a Graphic Designer to join the El Kul team here at BBC Media Action North Africa on a 6-month fixed term contact.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Graphic Designer who will be a key resource in running day-to-day digital activity and will be crucial in providing creative and engaging still and animated graphics in line with the needs of the production team and the diverse audiences served by El Kul. The successful candidate will work closely with El Kul teams to pitch, produce and post content.

Role Responsibility

Along with the El-Kul editorial team, the Graphic Designer takes responsibility for creating and delivering still and animated graphics in line with the needs of the editorial team whilst reflecting the latest industry trends and treatments.  With support from the Planning team, the Graphic Designer will pitch treatments and use feedback to ensure that content falls within agreed frameworks. It is essential that the Graphic Designer is able to work across various software including Photoshop, Final Cut, Adobe etc.

• To ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
• To develop illustrations, graphics and other designs that convey a message
• To incorporate changes based on feedback into the final design
• To keep up to date with emerging industry trends
• To share design expertise and creative solutions for the benefit of the audience
• Be accountable for the quality of your work and ensure it meets intended purposes
• Be accountable for the usability and accessibility of design deliveries for the broadest possible cross-section of users
