BACKGROUND  

INTERPRETATION SERVICES SCOPE OF  WORK (SOW)  

USAID Ma3an is a 7 -year (2018-2025) USAID-funded project implemented by FHI360 with a goal  to increase Tunisian youth civic engagement and economic empowerment and works towards the  following objectives: (1) Youth have improved access to skills, services, and opportunities for civic  engagement and economic empowerment, and (2) Tunisian youth lead and meaningfully  participate in activities to address youth and community priorities.  

SCOPE OF WORK  

The interpretation agency will assist Ma3an during the upcoming inauguration of Safe Spaces across  Tunisia to provide onsite interpretation services. The contract agrees to provide interpretation  services from Arabic to English. Also, the interpretation services will provide subtitles of videos from  Arabic to English The interpretation service contractor agrees to respect the meaning and structure  of the information being interpreted and edited in excellent with practical experience using online  interpretation platforms and demonstrated experience in providing simultaneous interpretation  services to international donor agencies, development organizations, or research institutions.  

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

 Provide high-quality interpretation and subtitling services from Arabic to English for all  aspects of USAID Ma3an upcoming site inaugurations.  

 Work collaboratively with project teams to meet needs for project communication consistent  with corporate and client standards.  

 Acting as Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking  tempos and personalities.  

 Providing parties with clear and exact translations of written materials, and interpretations of  verbal communication.  

 Providing interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and  other forms of verbal communication.  

 Imparting thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone of speakers from source language into  target language.  

 Interpreting with no additions or omissions.  

 Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria: 

– Technical Expertise / 70 points 

– Price / 30 points 

WORK LOCATION 

– Tunis or/and other cities depending on site location. (applicants can add transportation and  accommodation fees for outside Tunis activities.  

TRAVEL 

– Trravel is required outside of greater Tunis.  

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

Proposals must include the following components:  

1. CV  
2. Copy of Tax ID/RNE  
3. Daily Rate  
4. Copy of at least one pay stub, contract, or invoice to document the reasonableness of the  daily rate.  
5. 2 professional references  
6. Previous work performance (deliverables including a sample of written interpretation
