With knowledge and expertise across the spectrum of security sector reform and transitions, political governance and justice/rule of law, Aktis specialises in devising, managing and evaluating complex programmes to address challenging political and institutional problems.        

We currently have a vacancy for a Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (R,M&E) Officer to support our growing project portfolio in North Africa, in particular in Tunisia.

The successful applicant will be based in Tunis and be part of Aktis’ North Africa regional team. There will also be opportunities to work with colleagues based in London, the Middle East, East Africa, and potentially West Africa and the Sahel. The successful applicant will take up a trusted position in the company with the opportunity to help shape the future direction of Aktis in North Africa and further afield.

The R,M&E Officer will:

• support the Regional Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator (“RME Coordinator”) with data collection, data collation, research, analysis, reporting and the development of technical tools to support project activities (such as training and coaching sessions)

• work closely with Project Coordinators and technical leads on project activities to ensure that data and qualitative comments, feedback and analysis are captured during these events for reporting and M&E purposes.

• contribute to the design and implementation of other North Africa projects as needed.

• support cross-company learning and their own personal development through being a representative within the R,M&E practice area

Initially the role will support delivery, monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting on the UK-funded Strategic Assistance to the Tunisian Security Sector (SATSS) project. From early 2017 this person will also support the delivery, monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting on the Canadian-funded “Supporting a CVE Community of Practice” and the Dutch funded “Building community – police trust to counter violent extremism”.
