Position: Administrative Intern – Audit and Compliance (6 months internship with the possibility of recruitment)

CESVI has been operating in Libya since 2011 as the first Italian NGO to take action, in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, through humanitarian projects in Cyrenaica and Tripolitania. Nowadays CESVI is one of the best positioned NGOs in Libya, very active in the coordination of various sector working groups – in particular protection ones – with a diverse donors’ portfolio and serving all vulnerable target populations. From 2021 CESVI has expanded its presence in the East and South of Libya, with a further scale-up expected in coming years. 

 

The Administrative Intern – Audit and Compliance works under the supervision of the Audit and Compliance Manager. This detail-oriented Administrative Intern will join our team in Tunisia and work primarily on tasks for our operations in Libya. The Administrative Intern will support our audit and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the review and documentation of internal control processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of audit documentation, including collecting, organizing, and filing records.
  • Help conduct regular compliance checks and audits of financial and operational processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to audit and compliance activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials and presentations related to compliance and audit processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of corrective action plans to address identified compliance issues.
  • Perform other administrative, audit, and compliance-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic, and French.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in audit, compliance, or a related role or internship is an advantage but not required.
