Position title: Part-time Academy Department Officer

Duration: 10 months initially with possible renewal

Location: Tunis, Tunisia

Estimated Start Date: 01/11/2021

About the Association:

Social Accountability Association is a newly established Tunisian SCO that is formed by a group of young civil society leaders who share the same objective of installing and spreading the culture of social accountability in Tunisia in order to reinforce and preserve the newly established democracy. Our association’s objectives are granting civic participation, improving the quality of governance, and preserving democracy.

Therefore, Social Accountability Association is looking for an Academic Department Officer who will set a plan for the department’s work and ensure its proper implementation. He follows up the departments and projects under it and contributes with them in formulating the academic methodology of the Academy and the necessary training and workshops. He/she is tasked to establish the association’s *academic lab.
*Academic Lab: Providing research and studies in social accountability and related topics, and looking for partnerships with universities of law, political science, and social science.

Role and Responsibility:

  • Ensures the follow-up and training of members and those involved in the association in the required fields.
  • Establishing a National Academy for Social Accountability.
  • Responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the Department in line with the association and its plans and direction.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards and put in place the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure both compliance and improvement: such procedures will include giving training, research, and management.
  • Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the organization and the individual.
  • Ensure all staff has access to the necessary support to enable them to contribute fully and develop their skills and experience.
  • Help project managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

 

Critères d'éligibilité

  • Demonstrable experience as a training officer
  • Understands and applies fundamental concepts and principles of a professional discipline or technical specialty relating to the position.
  • Proven track record of boosting organizational growth through training.
  • Ability to conduct thorough needs assessments to gauge training needs.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of organizational policies and procedures relating to the position and applies them consistently in work tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills and written and oral communication skills.
