YCLA Project Training Program (Erasmus +)
Who are we?
Established in Tunis in 1977, the CCAB is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental Tunisian association.
Our vision is to build a compassionate community based on dignity principles, harmony, dialogue and peaceful co-existence. A community in which people will understand the meaning of peace, human rights and values, non-violence communication and gender equality.
The CCAB currently operates eight offices in Tunisia, along with two offices situated in Paris (France) and Koln (Germany). Our scope of activities spans from local to national and extends to international initiatives.

The YCLA Project:
About the Project:
The main goal of the Erasmus+ project, Young Community Leaders in Action (YCLA), is to boost the involvement and civic engagement of young people in the Euro-Mediterranean region. This will be achieved by fostering networking and policy discussions related to youth policy. The project focuses on training young leaders and community activists. YCLA involves six countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region: Italy, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Tunisia (CCAB), and Morocco. The project is organized into five interconnected work packages (WPs).
The training sessions ( WP2)
What & for whom: A 48-hour community workshop (24h face-to-face and 24h virtual) for 20 young people aged between 18 and 30, divided into 3 modules of 16 hours each.
When & where: The meetings will be held from December 2023 to January 2024, every weekend, in the CCAB headquarters situated at 31, Palestine Street, Lafayette, Tunis.
How & why: To create a group of young activists capable and eager to spend and mobilize for the community, discovering and reflecting on the needs, challenges, and opportunities of their territory, planning, and implementing interventions and actions of socio-cultural promotion, active citizenship, urban regeneration, socio-educational inclusion. They will do this by acquiring new knowledge and skills learnt by experimenting in the field with formal and non-formal methods, practices and tools introduced and made available by a group of trainer’s experts in different disciplinary and professional fields of intervention.
The instructional approach employed will be Blended Learning, where participants will undergo a total of 48 hours of training. This will encompass 24 hours of in-person sessions and an additional 24 hours dedicated to online courses, reading materials, and video content.
Introductive Module: Introduction to the importance of NGOs and nonprofits

1st Module: Mapping the needs of the local community:
5 sessions – 8 hours
N.1 Emotional /social intelligence
N.2 Needs Assessment Techniques
N.3 Stakeholders analysis
N.4 Data collection and analysis
N.5 Reporting and presentation skills
2nd Module: Co-designed solutions: participatory planning and mediation practices
Theory of change and management of the project cycle
2 sessions – 8 hours
N.1 Community Decision-Making Processes
N.2 Project design taking into consideration different aspects
3rd Module: Advocacy, networking and dialogue with public institutions and local associations Evaluation and feedback meetings with local stakeholders (schools, local institutions, and associations) for a discussion and sharing of project proposals.
1 session: 6 hours
Following the initial sessions, participants will be grouped into smaller teams, fostering collaboration as they collectively develop a tangible project chosen from their surroundings. These teams will then present their strategies at the conclusion of the project.
How to participate?
If you fall within the age range of 18 to 30, are a student or in search of employment, and aspire to enhance your skills while actively contributing to your community, we invite you to submit your CV along with a brief paragraph expressing your motivation to participate in the training session.
It’s important to acknowledge that a commitment must be signed before commencing the training, ensuring active engagement. Any absence exceeding 4 hours will result in elimination from the participants’ list.
All participants will receive a youth pass certifying their active participation in the sessions.
It’s worth mentioning that the sessions will be conducted in Tunisian dialect, although proficiency in French or English is preferable but not obligatory.
Please note: The training sessions are provided free of charge, and no costs are expected from participants.
