UTIL In partnership with The Lazord Foundation that supports programs for youth through nonprofit and civic leadership engagement across the Middle East and North Africa as we provide educational, programmatic and financial resources to partner organizations which serve youth in their local areas.
1/ Lazord Academy for Civic Leadership
Fellowship program was founded with the support of the Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at the American University in Cairo (AUC) to guide and encourage Jordanian youth to work in Jordan’s civic sector.
The Fellowship seeks to produce a generation of civically responsible and skilled leaders who play an active and engaged role across all of society’s sectors. The mission is to empower select undergraduate students and young civil society leaders by offering them guided opportunities to expand their skills in ethical leadership, civic engagement and strategic philanthropy. The program facilitates participants’ academic excellence and personal growth in a structured and dynamic environment that helps students build the bridge between theory and practice.
2/ The Lazord Fellowship
The fellowship provides job placement for university graduates in well-established non-profit and socially engaged organizations. Graduates from all backgrounds interested in pursuing careers in civil society are encouraged to apply. Offered since 2012, in Jordan, the fellowship is also available in Egypt, Jordan and will be expanded to Lebanon.
What the program is for?
An opportunity to actively engage in the nonprofit sector of each fellow’s respective country through a year-long internship.
Philosophy: The fellow acquires a year of work experience to build upon, regardless of which sector he or she enters afterwards, gaining self confidence and problem-solving skills
